LOCKERBIE ACADEMY 

On Thursday 27th April 2023, our Community and Communications Manager, Jessica Masterton supported Lockerbie Academy’s “Work Ready Day”. S2 pupils were given the chance to learn about various job roles and get inspired for their future careers through 20-minute workshops.  

The Amey workshop involved a quick introduction to the business and an engineering task, which involved building a tower using marshmallows and cocktail sticks. The tower had to be freestanding for at least 30 seconds and the tallest tower, that passed the test, won. There were some very creative and eye-catching designs from the pupils. We hope to inspire the next generation of engineers and events such as these are vital to introducing the industry to new talent.
