Winter Road Safety | Maxwellton Primary School 

On Friday 10th November 2023, Steven Bell, Martin Cochrane and Amy McAteer visited Maxwellton Primary School in East Kilbride to deliver a presentation on how the Amey South-West team keeps the roads safe during the winter. 179 pupils from P1-P7 were treated to an informative talk by Martin where they were able to learn lots of interesting facts about gritters and salt, and afterwards, each class was able to come out and see our gritter Charles RennIce Mackinslush up close. The children had some really difficult questions for gritter driver Steven, who at times was left scratching his head. We also donated some road safety-themed toys to the school, including hi-vis vests, hard hats, and road signs.
